SOME PEOPLE!!!

Today was my second, of two days of testing, to try to officially diagnose my asthma.
Notwithstanding the difficulty of the tests, or the pre-test restrictions (and subsequent migraine), I was actually having a fairly good day.

I medicated, for the migraine, as soon as I was told it wouldn't interfere with any of my test. And I started to feel like the migraine was abating most of the way through the first test. And by the end of it, the migraine was almost entirely gone.

Throughout my travel to and visit at the hospital (SSM Health - Outpatient Services), everyone was really kind, helpful and understanding. The technician who performed my tests was really great. She was very encouraging and considerate. We even traded tips on how to deal with other things.

Even though I had a long wait for my transportation home, I wasn't too terribly upset. Having learned from yesterday, I did bring some nice coffee and food, so I wouldn't be starving by the time I got home. And most of the time I had people to talk to.

The worst trouble I had all day started after I was in the transportation vehicle to go home and we were driving.  < Flame Inbound >
There was one other woman in the vehicle with myself and the driver. And at first, she seemed nice enough.

I'm not sure how we got started in that direction, but she began proselytizing AT me.
I did my best to just tolerate her rant, but she just kept revving up. And she was getting louder and louder as she went. It got to a point where you would think that she was giving a sermon.

Between the stress of her behavior and her volume, my migraine began to reassert itself.
It really didn't help when, being asked to reduce her volume on account of my migraine, she began to preach (paraphrasing) that all I had to do was have enough faith and it would go away!

Eventually, we tried to come to a mutual silence arrangement. Unfortunately she could not keep her end of the bargain. She instantly kept quipping at me, whenever she thought she could get away with it. I honestly felt sorry for the driver.

It was all I could do to keep from calling the police, to report her for verbally assaulting me and to file a restraining order against this woman! No one, and I mean absolutely NO ONE, has the right to subject another person to their views against their will.

It's one thing to have your personal views. It's another thing to share your views with others. It is an entirely different thing to beat someone over the head with your personal views! And furthermore, it's not legal! It is, in fact, assault!

Anyway, by the time I got home, I was so upset that I tried to call LogistiCare and request never to be in the same vehicle with that woman again. They were unfortunately unable to comply. The operator, with whom I spoke, said she wouldn't even know where to begin to try to make that happen.

So, from now on, I just have to hope to be allowed better (more compassionate) company for me medical trips. < End Rant >

I freely admit that I can be extremely opinionated. And I do share my opinions fairly regularly. But I do try to be respectful of others. I can only hope that I'm more successful than the woman I dealt with today.
