Post-Surgical Test Results

This morning I got a voicemail from my surgeon. She says that all the test results came back as she had hoped. So hopefully that gives me a leg up on my treatment. I don't believe that includes the cancer gene test (that I don't know how to spell). Again hopefully I'll get those results when I see my her next. Anyway, I have a follow-up with her 1/30/2018 at way too early, in the morning.
*fingers crossed*

Other progress notes below ...
In other news, I have been trying to cut back on the amount of pain medication I'm using. And I'm still not using anything prescription. I still have pain, and some bruising around the surgical areas, but not nearly so much pain as I had first thing. And most, if not all, of the superficial bruising in that area has gone away.

I'm still allowing myself to eat when I'm hungry, within reason. I'm much less concerned about my calorie counts than I am about facilitating my body's ability to heels. After all, the Fitbit is unlikely to be able to track that energy usage and I'm doing an awful lot of sitting, while trying to heal.

I believe I forgot to mention the fact that, on the first day home from surgery, I had serious problems with chills. Apparently, according to a good friend of mine (who has more medical knowledge than I do), the morphine they gave me in surgery caused me to be unable to regulate my own body temperature, as well as some others problems. So when I begin to get cold, I begin to shiver really hard. And it actually caused a great deal of pain. I did find that turning up the house temperature and dressing warmly solved that problem.

I finally got tired of the provided support bra. It was causing chafing in some areas. And with my delicate skin, it was actually creating irritation and some surface damage. But unlike the last time I tried switching bras, this time the regular sports bra is working just fine. Don't for a minute think it wasn't necessary though. Right after surgery I don't think I could have stood the pain, from movement alone, without it.

Oh yeah, for anyone keeping track, I'm still connected to the internet.  Well ... at least for now.
